october

october second, eight thirty-four pm.

hello blog! this is a new edition to my website i’ve been thinking about for probably a year, a space to keep track of my practice post-undergrad. in july i moved back to new hampshire and it has been quite the adjustment in terms of access to resources and being in so much more green. but i’m trying and i’m making things and i think that is all we can really ask of ourselves.

today the last part needed for my at-home copystand setup arrived, i’ve been kind of procrastinating setting it up becuase i lost my labradorite ring somewhere in my room and it’s making me upset. but after i type this i will start scanning i think.

i made some cyanotypes today and tried to get more promotional material for my workshop at photo retro. i definitely need some sort of contact printing frame because i was having a hard time keeping my exposures in the sun with magnets and tape. a lot of things were overexposed today but i think i’m happy with at least one print. i need to be more gentle when coating paper as i saw a lot of brushstrokes. someone online was making cyanotypes on stone and i would like to try that next.

i like the look of prints made from negatives that weren’t held completely flat, but their success is dependent on a lot of factors that i did not take into account today. the directionality of the sun is actually important. lol.

clever but negatives were not flat enough....
very happy with how this promo turned out :3 stickers for text is very fun + i love the detail on the butterfly
timo came to hang out :D
i wish i took this one out of the sun earlier :(
loved this but it was underexposed :(
